We Need Your Help!  Hurricane Irma Emergency Food Relief:   Donate Now Donate Today!

As a result of power outages due to Hurricane Irma, millions of Florida families were forced to throw away food. Thankfully, several of our generous Product Partners have pledged 25 truckloads of fresh produce and proteins ready to be delivered to our UP Centers. Unfortunately, the fuel and freight costs to cover these additional shipments will cost our organization $60,575. Please consider making a donation to sponsor a pallet or truckload to help ensure this donated product can make it into the hands of those who need it most during this difficult time.

Help keep our Emergency Food Pantry Stocked!

In addition to our main Member Share Grocery Program, we maintain a small Emergency Food Pantry to help families that are facing true crisis situations. Because everything we do at UP of Indian River County centers around our “hand up, not handout” model, clients must participate in a 30 minute life skills class in order to receive a free bag of emergency food items that will provide two well-rounded meals. The non-perishable items stocked in the pantry are exclusively provided by food drives hosted by schools, churches, companies, civic groups and neighborhoods. You can help stock our shelves by collecting protein-rich items like peanut butter, tuna fish, canned chili, Vienna sausages and canned ravioli. Your kindness will not only put food on the table for a hungry family, but help a parent take the first step towards bettering their life.
